South Korean hoping to stay in international setup...
![]() Celtic midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng has admitted his move to Glasgow is a gamble if he is to earn a place in South Korea’s World Cup squad. The 20-year-old is hoping to impress his international manager Huh Jung-Moo but feels he needs to feature regularly at Parkhead to be in South Africa next summer. Ki said: "It is very important for me to be playing regularly, otherwise my manager at South Korea is not going to be too happy. "I join Celtic in January and that means there is not much time. "The manager [Tony Mowbray] is gambling also because he doesn't know much about me. "I am really looking forward to the World Cup, it is my first one and it will be a good experience to be playing against the best players in the world." Regarding the prospect of featuring in his first Old Firm match against Rangers on January 3, Ki said: "I haven't trained for a while so I need a couple of weeks to build my body. "In my opinion, I'm not ready for the Old Firm game but if the manager wants me to play then maybe I will get an opportunity. "I have watched a lot of Celtic versus Rangers games and so it will be very interesting, with a lot of pressure." Source: Goal
